Ione Elementary School & Ione Junior High School Staff Members Recognized
This month’s Challenge Coin recipients were staff members from Ione Elementary School and Ione Junior High School. Ione Elementary School principal Mike Huss recognized Lisa Andrews, Piper Mohr, and Julia Mandeson. Ione Junior High School principal Maria Elena Becerra and vice principal Rebecca White recognized Martha Gambles, DeAnna Bell, Shelia Poore, Debra Davie, Rochelle Brown, Kristin Cable, Daryl Lee, and Marissa Khouri.
Board Approves Form J-13A
The board approved the Request for Allowance of Attendance (Form J-13A). This will be submitted to the State, and if approved, will allow us to not make up the 6 extra snow days taken in March.
From the Agenda:
- The board had an in-depth discussion about the interview process for the Consolidated High School Principal position.
- The board approved a contract with Aeries, our student information system, for online enrollment. This will allow families to register with the district online, avoiding the use of paper enrollment packets.
- The board approved the purchase of 2 vehicles for our CTE (Career Technical Education) program. These vehicles will be used to provide student transportation to FFA and other Ag program events, as well as provide the ability to tow large trailers for animals and other program equipment.
The next regularly scheduled board meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 24th at the Amador County Administration Building. Open session will start at 6:30 pm. Board agendas can be viewed here.
