Universal Pre-Kindergarten Mixed Delivery Program
Erika Simmons, the Amador Child Care Planning Council Coordinator, delivered a presentation about the Universal Pre-Kindergarten Mixed Delivery Grant. This grant’s focus is to support the relationship between our school district, the office of education, local planning councils, and reference and referral agencies.
From the Agenda:
- The board approved the Special Education Local Plan Area (SELPA) Plan for 2023-2024.
- The board approved the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) for 2023-2024.
- The board approved the California School Dashboard Local Indicators. The California School Dashboard is a system that measures and reports the progress of schools in California using state and local indicators. Schools are required to meet educational requirements, report results, and utilize self-reflection tools, with the Dashboard assigning performance levels of “Met” or “Not Met” accordingly.
- The board approved the LCAP Federal Addendum, which is required to be submitted to the California Department of Education to apply for Every Student Succeeds Act funds.
- The school approved the 2023-2024 Budget Adoption.
- The board approved the Board Policy 1240 update. Board Policy 1240 addresses Volunteers and how they are covered should an injury occur. Previously, the policy stated that volunteers would be covered under Workers’ Compensation. Per this update, volunteers will now be covered under the district’s general liability insurance.
- The board approved the 2023-2024 Salary Schedules. The salary schedules were updated to reflect the upcoming school year and list all job titles, which is required by both PERS and STRS. Additional compensation for the 2023-2024 school year has not been negotiated at this time.
- The board approved the services agreement with SyTech Solutions. This agreement will allow the district to utilize SyTech solutions to scan and digitally file documents that the district is required to keep indefinitely, which will increase security and decrease the amount of space needed to store the physical files.
- The board discussed the County Office of Education summary report. The County Superintendent of Schools is required to prepare a summary of how they plan to support school districts and schools within the county.
- The board approved the California State Preschool Program Self-Evaluation, which included results from a survey that was sent to all preschool families.
- The board approved the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) Plan Guide. The plan guide is considered a living document that is periodically reviewed and adjusted to reflect the news of the community, updates in the law, and to provide continuous improvement in the development of an effective ELOP.
The next meeting will be held on July 26, 2023, tentatively scheduled to be held at the Amador County Administration Building, 810 Court St., Jackson, CA. Open session will begin at 6:30 pm. Board agendas can be viewed here.
