The ACUSD/ACOE Community Newsletter is a weekly communication from the Amador County Unified School District and Amador County Office of Education. The purpose of this newsletter is to keep our families, staff, and community members informed about our district!

District News & Announcements
No School Monday, February 17
Due to President's Day, there will be no school on Monday, February 17.
Please note that because of the Monday holiday, Wednesday, February 19, will not be an early release day, and all schools will follow the regular day bell schedule.
We hope everyone enjoys their long weekend!

School Garden Coalition Logo Designs Needed
The School Garden Coalition is looking for submissions for their next logo! Designs can be emailed to ktacarter@ucanr.edu.

School Board Updates
The next School Board meeting will take place on Wednesday, February 19, at the Amador County Administration Center located at 810 Court St. Jackson, CA 95642. Open Session begins at 6:30 p.m.

Celebrating CTE Appreciation Month ✨
Did you know February is CTE Appreciation Month?
The ACUSD School Board acknowledged this proclamation at the February 5 board meeting, where CTE Director Nicci Gravette provided an update on the district's CTE program, recognizing participating teachers and staff. FFA students from both high schools expressed their gratitude to the board and cabinet with gifts crafted by students in various CTE pathways, including floral and culinary.

Julie Morgan Voted Best Classified Staff Member 🎉
Julie Morgan, librarian at Jackson Elementary School, was voted as the Best Classified Employee in Amador County by our community!
Principal Katrina Ramos says "Mrs. Morgan is a knowledgeable and approachable librarian who inspires a love for reading and lifelong learning for our students at JES!"
Mike Huss Voted Best Principal 🎉
Our last, but certainly not least, Best of Amador winner is Ione Elementary Principal Mike Huss.
Mr. Huss was voted Best Principal in Amador County by our community. As shown by this award, Mr. Huss is well-loved by his staff, students, and families. He has served as a custodian, teacher, and principal at Ione Elementary and leaves an impression on every student he meets.
