Amador High School Baseball Field Dedication

The Board formally named the Amador High School baseball field Dennis Larsen Field and inducted Dennis Larsen into the Amador High School Baseball Hall of Fame. Dennis Larsen was the head coach of Amador High School baseball for 33 years and led the team to 22 Motherlode League Championships.

Child Development Department Staff Receive Challenge Coins

Jeni DeWalt, director of Child Development, gave Challenge Coins to 3 State Preschool staff: Jessica Vaughn, Tamaran Hollingsworth, and Chloe Morris. Brianna Cadotte, Expanded Learning Opportunities Program Supervisor, gave Challenge Coins to 2 of her staff members as well: Cayden Hansen and Catherine Simmons. 

Special Education Department Staff Receive Challenge Coins

Dr. Sadie Hedegard, Assistant Superintendent of Special Education, gave a Challenge Coin to Nina Machado, a valued community partner. Dr. Steve Russell, Director of Alternate Special Education, gave a Challenge Coin to Renate Keller. Joshua Brock, ACOE Director of Special Education, gave a Challenge Coin to Christine Kiekhaefer. Jonathan Murray, ACUSD Director of Special Education, gave a Challenge Coin to Stacy Herrera. 

From the Agenda:

  • The board discussed policy regarding what motions a student board member can legally make. This item was discussion-only, so no board action was taken.
  • The board approved several board policy updates for the Business Department, the Educational Services Department, and the Human Resources Department. 
  • The board approved the school facilities grant and consulting services agreement with Hancock, Park, and DeLong. 
  • The board approved the technical studies agreements for the Environmental Impact Report. The technical studies will evaluate the impact of consolidation on water and wastewater infrastructure, the biological and ecological components, and traffic flow.
  • The board approved the recirculation of the Draft Environmental Impact Report after all of the technical studies have been completed.

The next meeting will be held on May 22nd, scheduled to be held at the Amador County Administration Building, 810 Court St., Jackson, CA. Open session will begin at 6:30 pm. Board agendas can be viewed here.
