Honoring our Veterans

In recognition of our Veterans and observance of Veteran’s Day this week, there was a Presentation of Colors by Scout Troop 63, chartered by American Legion Post 108.

Jackson Junior High School Challenge Coins

Jackson Junior High Principal Chris Mothorn recognized two staff members, teacher Kurt Muchow and teacher Jon Gilliam, with Challenge Coins. 

Technology Department Challenge Coins

Director of Technology Dan Hebert recognized Greg Barnes with a Challenge Coin.

School Consolidation Updates

Various school consolidation updates were given in the area of facilities, as well as an update on the name, mascot, and color Selection for the Consolidated High School. The board discussed the CEQA process in-depth and heard public comment regarding the school consolidation project. School consolidation updates are a standing item on the agenda for each board meeting.

From the Agenda: 

  • The board approved Board Bylaw 9320 – Meetings & Notices.
  • The board approved the Educational Resource Consultants Contract.
  • The board approved the Notice of Intent to Employ Teacher on Variable Term Waiver.
  • The board approved items related to Adult Education Reconfiguration
  • The board heard and discussed the CEQA study update.
  • The board approved Resolution 2023/24-06 –  Approving the Form of Preliminary Official Statement.

The next meeting will be held on December 13th, tentatively scheduled to be held at the Amador County Administration Building, 810 Court St., Jackson, CA. Open session will begin at 6:30 pm. Board agendas can be viewed here.
