Maintenance Department Challenge Coins
Joe Cruz, Maintenance Department Director, awarded ACUSD Challenge Coins to 4 of his staff members: Dennis Nelson, Charles Foyil, Robert Barge, and Randy DenBraven.
Pioneer Elementary Challenge Coins
Denae Merten, Pioneer Elementary Principal, awarded ACUSD Challenge Coins to Jennifer Aguiar, Amanda Robinson, and Kalena Granada.
CTE Appreciation Month
The Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) has designated February as CTE Month to emphasize the positive impact of CTE programs on student career preparation. The ACUSD School Board acknowledged this proclamation, and CTE Director Nicci Gravette provided an update on the district's CTE program, recognizing participating teachers and staff. FFA students from both high schools expressed their gratitude to the board and cabinet with gifts crafted by students in various CTE pathways, including floral and culinary.
From the Agenda
ACUSD:
- The board held a public hearing for Extended School Year 2024-2025.
- The board approved the purchase of two new vans for the Food Services Department. This item was amended to remove the purchase of a truck for the Food Services Department director, which may be brought back for further discussion at a future meeting.
- Scott Hunkins, District Athletic Director, provided an update to the board regarding ACUSD Athletics. The board held a discussion regarding the update. This item was discussion-only, so no board action was taken.
- Patty Horn, Assistant Superintendent of Educational Services, provided a mid-year Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) update. This item was discussion-only, so no board action was taken.
- Robert Norton, Interim Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, provided a presentation regarding the Governor’s budget proposals for the 2025-26 state budget. This item was discussion-only, so no board action was taken.
- Robert Norton provided an ACUSD health & welfare benefits review update. This item was discussion-only, so no board action was taken.
ACOE:
- The board approved the memorandum of understanding (MOU) between ACOE and Interfaith Food Bank.
- The board held a public hearing for Extended School Year 2024-2025.
The next meeting will be held on February 19, 2025, scheduled to be held at the Amador County Administration Building, 810 Court St., Jackson, CA. The ACUSD Board Meeting will begin at 6:30 pm. Board agendas and minutes can be viewed here.
