Advisory Committee
HEALTHCARE ADVISORY COMMITTEE & ADVOCACY
Welcome to our dedicated space for transparency and involvement in your health benefits. The ACUSD/ACOE Healthcare Advisory Committee is committed to providing care, support, and wellness for our employees and their families.
Our Mission & Purpose
Formed in December 2025, the Healthcare Advisory Committee serves as an advisory body to the District. Our primary goals include:
- Reviewing Plan Data: Analyzing health plan costs, enrollment figures, and plan participation.
- Advisory Input: Providing recommendations and input on the selection of future health plans.
- Collaboration: Working closely with the District to ensure transparency through communication.
How We Operate
- Meeting Frequency: The committee meets at least once per quarter, with up to two additional meetings scheduled as needed.
- Reporting: We are dedicated to providing a written semi-annual report to all employees regarding health insurance updates.
- Role: While we do not act as a voting body, our advisory capacity is vital for shaping the benefits landscape.
Current Benefits Landscape
We have recently transitioned to CalPERS to provide our employees with greater price stability and a way out of self-insurance.
- Effective Dates: Our current plans became effective October 1, 2025, and January 1, 2026, through December 30, 2026.
- Plan Year: Aligns with the calendar year (January–December) and matches your deductibles.
Get Involved: Advocacy in Action
Your voice is essential in ensuring we have access to affordable, high-quality healthcare. Here is how you can get involved:
- Attend CalPERS Board Meetings: Join us in person to represent our district. You can view the CalPERS Board Meetings Schedule here.
- Participate in Email Campaigns: Stay tuned for organized email efforts to advocate for better access and more plan offerings, such as the addition of an EPO.
- Focus Areas: Our current advocacy efforts are focused on improving access to local providers (such as Sutter Amador) and ensuring dental and vision options remain competitive.
